PresGlas® SA+ provides effective acoustic and thermal control in generator enclosures, under-the-hood engine applications, and air conditioning and heating equipment with operating temperatures up to 185° C).

Instead of simply increasing the mass of a barrier to obtain greater sound properties, a lighter construction can be achieved by separating the barrier from the wall or panel with a spacer, generally called a de-coupler, of light material, such as fiberglass. With a center core of noise dampening barrier sandwiched between different densities of compressed, molded fiberglass PresGlas® SA+ is able to both absorb and block a wide frequency range from exiting the enclosure.

Fiberglass composites are non-combustible and non-hydroscopic. They do not support fungus or vermin. In addition, they are unaffected by oil, grease, and most acids. The porosity and inherent structure of the molded fiberglass are highly effective in reducing thermal transfer. In fact, no other material is as cost effective as fiberglass in protecting from heat. When combined with foil, predicted R-values are greater than 3.5 with a thickness of 3/4" or more.

In addition to the thermal and acoustic properties, the high tensile strength of this product can readily withstand damage from mechanical abrasion during assembly and from air erosion in service.
